Aviators with Coast Guard Sector San Diego perform tasks during a water survival test, known as “wet drills,” in Coronado, Thursday, Sep. 19, 2013. The annual drill keeps aviators’ skills sharp in the event their helicopter crashes. The drills included a survival swim to a life raft, discussing and demonstrating the use of signaling flares, identifying items in their survival vest, building a fire and creating a shelter using items from their aircraft.
